Blog improvements planned

Well, now that I have 1100 posts under my belt — my 31 December goal and 1500 by 31 December 2006; you do have blogging goals, right? — I have other things I want to do.

  • Fewer categories. Forty-one categories is ridiculous. Some lend themselves for deletion, but I’ll ask you the reading public which ones you’d like to see added. That means assigning literally hundreds of “general” comments to a category, so think big.
  • Better tools. Again, not sure what would help you. Fuller comment excerpts, perhaps? Is there something you’ve seen elsewhere that would work well here?
  • More projects. This blog has become my workbook. That said, I can add or drop projects. Some have cropped accidentally, like discussions on appropriate clergy apparel. Is there something you’d like to see discussed or worked on in 2006?
