Today is Saint David’s Day, the patron saint of Wales. His shrine (where some think lie his remains) is in a town (technically a city) of the same name, in the traditional county of Pembrokeshire.
This seems to be a good time to recall that Universalist son of Pembrokeshire, James Relly. And in case you don’t have his book Union, you can download it at my other site. (You’ll need to register to download it.)
I visited St David’s a few years ago on a geology fieldtrip to Pembrokeshire. I think its the smallest city in the UK, Just a village really. I remember that there was a ‘City Hall’ which sounded strange and quite American to me. Manchester, being a city probably 100 times bigger than St David’s, still has a Town Hall.

When I was a child my father took me to a Saint David’s day dinner at a Congregational Church we attended in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It is a nice memory from long ago.
