GA 2007: Friday evening

Some Plenary live-blogging. Goodness, I’ve seen more plenary this GA than I have at some of the one’s I’ve actually attended.

Candidate speeches. Are any of these races contested? Very bothersome. But at least the lay candidates don’t have that insufferable sing-songy cadence that seems to be installed, with a few exceptions, at ministerial ordination.

Not fond of the podium and foliage. I’m not usually fond of clear plastic dais furnishings, but the podium at the UCC General Synod is more attractive.

The Rev. Chris Buice, a candidate for the Nominating Committee, is an Earlham grad.

No, an unopposed slate elected by acclamation.
