It’s the year 2000 in Ethiopia, according to their traditional calendar. The government is making much of it. That seems a happier even to mark today than other options.
While Washington has some of the best Ethiopian restaurants in the diaspora, I’ll celebrate quietly at home, listening to chants. Or something like that.
