Well, it seems that the folks in Canterbury didn’t quite anticipate the demand for the report that is the attention of the world’s Anglicans (and ecumencially minded Christians) because their server is swamped.
Wire stories don’t have any details yet (the report was released about a half hour ago) so many of us will have to wait. But if the rumors I heard yesterday are true, the yes-voting bishops are going to have to apologize and promise to nedder, nedder do it again.

Twelve hours later. Though the report fairly, and comparitively mildly, picks out three guilty parties: the American church for consecrating an openly gay partnered bishop, the Canadian diocese of New Westminister (and by extension the American diocese that support same-sex liturgical unions) and the bishops (mainly African, but presumably including the immediate past Archbishop of Canterbury) for oversteping their bounds (literally) in performing episcopal services. Need I say which of the three is picked out for especial consideration in the press?
I’ll can’t imagine that there’ll be as much contrition as the authors hoped. I can imagine that the parties will square off, leading to a good number of lawyers retiring early but well-paid.
