Welcome Foothills, Maryville

The Unitarian Universalist Association Board of Trustees, at its most recent meeting, admitted the Foothills Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Maryville, Tennessee to membership. (Source: UUWorld)

I mention this because

  • of my concern about how few new congregations are entering the UUA.
  • because we ought to celebrate our congregational transitions openly.
  • and because my mother’s family is from Knoxville, in which metro area “Murvul” is.

I note the congregation meets two times a month in rented meeting rooms — which I think is good for a congregation trying to scale. Good, too, to keep a record of what level of activity is worthy of admission. Open standards and all.
